6:10a.m. I’m enjoying a “house” dbl hammerhead at Infux Goldenhill this morning. Soon the oatmeal with apples and walnuts will arrive once the kitchen opens at 6:30. This gives the coffee a chance to upload first and enhance my mental processes. Later after I’ve burned up the calories provided by the porridge I’ll have the carrot muffin. I have time for but one observation this morning before I start other activities so I’ll get right to it.

The role of the philosopher
I’ve been thinking about job descriptions and was wondering how a philosopher might be described today.  I’ve come up with an initial idea about this. What follows is version 1.0:

The philosopher is a person who’s contribution to humanity is that of opening eyes to potentiality and removing the veil of ignorance woven over centuries by those who would subjugate others for their own gain (or out of ignorance) including both secular and non-secular leaders, their followers, false sages and others.

I would love to hear from others who have their own ideas of the role of philosophers in our society….
